The delivery procedure will vary depending on the shipping destination (i.e. if you request delivery to a Japanese address or to another country).

Japan Delivery

If you request delivery to an address in Japan, you will be asked to provide a valid form of I.D. (shortly after your order has been placed). You must also be over the age of 18 to purchase a voice capable SIM or eSIM product. The required form of I.D. will be displayed during the checkout process after entering your delivery address.
The I.D. requirements for our shipping option (when purchasing a voice capable SIM / eSIM) are due to Japanese law and so unfortunately, we are unable to make any exceptions.
Please also note that for security reasons, the SIM card / eSIM access code cannot immediately be delivered directly to your address in Japan. Once the local post office has received the package and it's ready for delivery / collection, "Japan Post" will initially send you a double-sided A4 document which will contain additional instructions.
The document that you receive from "Japan Post" will be in Japanese unfortunately but you should see two boxes (similar to the example below) which will display the name of the local post office that the package has been delivered to. It will also confirm how long the package will be stored for before the package would be returned (which would usually be approximately 1 week).

You can then contact the Post Office to arrange a delivery time or you can visit a Yu-Yu counter at the specified Post Office to collect your order in person.
Home Delivery:
If you would like to select the delivery option, there should be a QR code on the document you received (which you can scan and follow the prompts to arrange a delivery slot) or you can call their English Customer Service line on 0570-046-111 to arrange this (the number can be called between 8am and 9pm).
When arranging the delivery, you will be asked for your preferred delivery date / time (the available options are shown in the table below), details of the I.D. you will be providing (i.e your Residence card, Driver’s License or My Number Card) and your Date of Birth. Please note that Passports are not an acceptable form of I.D.

When the package is delivered, you must be available so that you can show the delivery driver your I.D. (which must display the same name and delivery address that you provided for your order).
Post Office Collection:
If you intend to collect your order in person (from the Yu-Yu Counter at the specified post office), you will be asked to present the A4 delivery notice (that you received in the mail) when you arrive at the counter.
You will also be asked for your I.D. (i.e. your Residence card, Driver’s License or My Number Card) and your I.D. must display the same name and delivery address that you provided for your Mobal order. Please note that Passports will not be accepted.
We have also included a note below (in Japanese) which can be shown at the Yu-Yu counter to help with the collection process. -

If you would like to receive your SIM or eSIM access code prior to your arrival in Japan, you would be required to select the "Shipping (Free)" option during the checkout process.
Depending on your location, delivery times can vary (from 2-5 business days to 15-30 business days) but an estimate will be provided during the checkout process after providing your delivery address. Please note that if you live in a remote area, delivery may take slightly longer than the estimated delivery time.
If you intend to select our delivery option however, please be advised that you will be asked to provide a valid form of I.D. shortly after your order has been placed. You must also be over the age of 18 to purchase a voice capable SIM or eSIM product.

If you would like to receive your physical Data-Only SIM Card prior to your arrival in Japan, you would be required to select the "Shipping (Free)" option during the checkout process.

Data-Only eSIMs

If you are ordering a Data only eSIM, we can confirm that delivery will not be required.
Once you have placed your order, the eSIM will be added to your Mobal online account (MyAccount) within approximately 15 minutes.
Instructions on how to activate your eSIM will also be sent to you via email and so please review all information carefully.
WiFi Devices

Please note that we can only ship our WiFi devices to an address within Japan.
Once you have placed your order, your device should be delivered to you within 2-5 business days. If you live in a remote area however, delivery may take slightly longer than the estimated delivery time.

However, please be advised that the choice of collection points will be limited to a few locations in Tokyo (as this product type is only stocked at these locations).

In your email to our team, please include your order confirmation number, the date / time you will be arriving in Japan and the airport / airport terminal you will be arriving at.
